If you’re considering relocating to the Queen City or just moving within Charlotte if you’re already here, following is an overview of some neighborhoods to consider.
- Ballantyne Country Club is one of the most sought after neighborhoods in the South Charlotte area. The neighborhood has Bike paths, a pool, a Family Activities Center and a teen Center. Homes are, to say the least, very spacious and filled with luxury appointments and impeccable yards. It’s close to shopping, schools and highway access. It’s also adjacent to the Blakeney Town Center, a 270-acre master-planned development. The golf course at Ballantyne Country Club is stunningly beautiful. It is a Rees Jones designed 18-hole, par-72 course. New home buyers in Ballantyne can choose from golf, sports, swim-tennis and swim-social memberships. There is also a full-time activities director. Homes currently run from the 500k range to over 2 million.
- Dilworth is one of Charlotte’s original streetcar-era suburbs, it is known for both its history and new development. Today Dilworth is filled with trendy boutiques, upscale shops, and great restaurants. Dilworth is located east of South Boulevard, from Morehead Street to Ideal Way. It is also adjacent to South End and the new light-rail corridor. Dilworth has a full mix of residences, ranging from the 300′s for fixer uppers to homes over 1 million.
- Plaza Midwood is in the east side of Charlotte and is considered an up and coming area. East Charlotte has so many opportunities to be so close to downtown in a home that has great upside potential. There are plenty of aesthetically pleasing homes with loads of charm and unique architecture. Homes in the east Charlotte area range from under 100K to over 700K. Great stores are popping up as retailers open shop and there are deals to be had in homes. Whether you are flipping, renting or buying the east side of Charlotte may have what you are looking for.
- Sedgefield is located just south of historic Dilworth in South Charlotte. The neighborhood was built after World War II and many of the homes are being renovated due to is great location and easy access to downtown Charlotte. Sedgefield is located between Park Road and South Boulevard and is in the Myers Park High School district. Styles range from brick ranches to bungalow and home prices currently range from 200K to just under 500K. This is definitely a Charlotte neighborhood on the upswing due to location, new developments and current affordable prices.
